Description

Ayurveda is the key to holistic health. During ancient times, the practitioners of Ayurveda discovered that the Kansa (Bronze) metal has the ability to balance the pH (acidity) levels in the human body. Since then, they started suggesting that people should eat their meals on Kansa plates to improve digestion and reduce the acidity of the food. Soon, it became an excellent remedy for balancing three doshas: Vata, Pitta, and Kapha.

The Rise of Padabhyanga Massage

Pada is the foot, and abhyanga is an oil massage in Sanskrit. The Ashtanga Hridayam covers it in its chapter on the daily routine. It says an oil massage should be done every day, and especially on the head, the ears, and the feet. Such massage is traditionally done in the evening to help the body settle at the end of the day. The bowl used in this massage is commonly known as vatki in India, cast from Kansa (कांस्य). The Kansa (commonly known as bronze) is an alloy of copper and tin. It is the same metal the Ayurvedic practitioners suggested for eating meals.

How Vandana Tools Came Up with the Padabhyanga Electric Kansa Vatki Foot Massager

Our founder, Mr. Suresh Jadhav, watched his father receive a padabhyanga massage the old way. His father asked for it every evening. The problem was keeping it up every day. Such a massage takes a trained person, real effort, and more than half an hour every single day, and very few families manage that for long. So Suresh Jadhav closely studied what the massage actually needed — the bronze, the oil, and a slow, steady movement over the sole. Then, he decided to design a machine that requires little to no effort and gift it to his father.

That gift turned out to be a marvel. His father started doing the massage by himself, in his own chair, in about ten minutes. That was the first electric Kansa Vati massager in India. Then, his father's friend and a couple of family members started asking for the same massager. It finally gave birth to Vandana Tools and its Electric Kansa Vatki Foot Massager.

We then started our own workshop in Dighi, Pune.

Benefits

  • Ideal for Foot & Full-Body

One machine. Round bowl for feet, legs, and back. Dotted bowl for feet, shoulders, back, and thighs. Face bowl only for the face.

  • The soles of both feet marked with a foot reflexology chart

    Marma (Acupressure) Points Massage

Ayurveda books say there are special points under your feet, called marma points. The dotted bowl presses on these points slowly.

  • Illustration of the body's blood vessels beside red blood cells

    Improves Blood Circulation

The Kansya bowl turns warm as it moves on your skin. You feel the warmth and the weight of the metal on your foot.

  • A man holding his neck and lower back, with both areas shaded red

    Relief from Muscle Pain

Old Ayurveda books say an oil foot massage is for tired and stiff feet. Use a little oil. Move slowly. If it hurts, stop

  • Hands giving a gentle stomach massage to a person lying on a towel

    Helps in Lymphatic Drainage

Move the bowl slowly over oiled skin, like a hand massage. The dotted bowl presses at small points. The round bowl presses all over.

  • A woman holding her lower leg, with veins visible on the calf

    Relieve Painful Varicose Veins

The round bowl can be used on the legs with oil, slowly and gently. If you have varicose veins or any vein problem, with consistent use of our massager, you may notice reduced pain over time.

  • An electric Kansa vatki massager used on the sole of a foot

    Detoxification of Entire Body

The daily massage removes toxins from your body. Many people notice a black substance coming out of their soles after a 10-minute massage using our electric Kansya foot massager.

  • Illustration of a human figure with the joints glowing orange

    Joint Pain Relief

Use the bowl on the feet, legs, back, shoulders, and thighs. It can help you feel relaxed in case of joint pain. Make sure you never use the massager on a swollen or painful joint. If a joint hurts, ask your doctor first.

  • An older man jogging on a park path

    Increases Strength of Legs

Old Ayurveda books say that a kansya vatki and oil foot massage strengthen the lower limbs and increases the endurance level. But you need to be consistent with its use.

  • Two side-by-side portraits of the same woman

    Helps Reduce Dark Circles

The massager is proven to promote circulation and movement of nutrients into facial cells. You will notice reduced puffiness and fine lines around the eyes.

  • A woman touching the skin under her eyes with her fingertips

    Reduces Wrinkles & Acne

Daily kansya massage improves the inner glow and texture of the skin. It is also known to improve the immune system and restore the inner healing mechanism.

  • A smiling older couple standing together

    Become Stress-Free

Our customers noted they felt energetic throughout the day with consistent massage using the Ayurvedic electric kansya wati foot massager.

Which oil to use for Ayurvedic kansa vatki foot massage at home?

Please note that there is no single best oil that we can suggest. It solely depends on your body type. Most people find coconut oil to be useful, and others may see results with sesame oil or even 100% pure desi ghee made using the bilona method.

In general, we suggest our customers try different oils like coconut or sesame, and even massage oil that they can find at the nearest medical store. Then, notice the toxins or black substance coming out of your foot after the massage. The one that best suits you is the one with which you noticed comparably high toxins or black substance.

How long should I massage my feet?

The vati moves on its own; your job is only to hold your foot. Move slowly over the whole sole: heel, arch, ball of the foot, then the toes. Shift a little every few seconds. About five minutes on each foot is plenty. Ten minutes in total is the usual advice — longer is not better.

What is the purpose of each vatki?

A vati (also spelled vatki) is the small bronze bowl on the machine. It is the part that touches your skin. Every portable machine takes the same vatis. Only the top of the bowl is different. We make four:

  • Round Kansya Wati — for the feetonly. It has lines across the top.
  • Face Kansya Wati — for the face only. It is smooth, with no lines and no dots, so nothing catches the skin.
  • Flat Kansya Wati — for feet that find the other vatis too strong or ticklish. It has a flat top. Older people and children often prefer it.
  • Dotted Kansya Wati — for the bottom of the feet, and also the shoulders, back, and thighs. In Ayurveda, the bottom of the foot carries points called marma points, and the dots are made for pressing on those points steadily.

Care and cleaning

  • Wipe the vati with a soft dry cloth after every use, and store it dry
  • Bronze darkens with use and oil — that is normal and does not affect it
  • Keep the machine away from water; never put a vati in water for long
  • Do not use on broken skin
  • The vatis lift off, so each one can be cleaned on its own
  • Message us on WhatsApp with your KT code if anything is not working
